As the Spit Point Lighthouse is still a functioning lighthouse, access is by tour only. The lighthouse is open daily for tours, weather permitting. The lighthouse is open 7 days a week, except Christmas Day.

Express Self-Guided Tours (Peak Periods)

Express Self-Guided Tours – Weekends & all of January (from Boxing Day).   With these tours customers can self tour through the lighthouse, chatting to expert guides top and bottom, taking as long or little time as they like.

Available between 10am and 5pm.

Parking

Please note:
· No able-bodied parking at the top of Reserve Road or on Federal Street.
· Disabled parking ONLY at the end of Federal St adjacent to the lighthouse
· Unless cars have a disabled sticker, they must park on at the Step Beach car park on the corner of Lighthouse Road and Federal Street or on Lighthouse Road, Eagle Rock Parade, or Inlet Crescent.

Other information:
Tours are taken with a maximum of 10 people, plus the lighthouse Tour Guide.

A moderate level of fitness is required as the lighthouse climb is quite strenuous.

Appropriate footwear must be worn. Thongs, sandals without heel straps and high heels are not safe to wear in the lighthouse.

Due to telecommunication equipment housed in the lighthouse, we do not recommend access for people with pacemakers or similar medical technology.

Children must be 5 years and over to take a tour.

An adult must accompany all children under age 10.

Not recommended for participants who suffer vertigo or claustrophobia

Private access for weddings & functions is available.
